New York City’s Unemployment Rate Fell to 6.8% in September

This article explains that New York City has the lowest unemployment rate since 2008. In September unemployment had fallen to 6.8%, just one month before it was 7.3%. This is showing a great improvement in the economy of NYC and the surrounding area. Since the start of the year the number of jobs in NYC has gone up 2.8%, or 95,000 jobs.
It is good to see growth like this happening. Efforts to grow the economy have seemed to work by these numbers. The article also went on the say that there are hopes for the NYC unemployment to become lower and match the total unemployment for the state.

  1. There are a ton of happy New York citizens and economists when New York City's unemployment rate falls 0.5% in just a month. I hope this is an indicator of things to come for the United States economy.

  2. This is a great thing for NYC's economy and Americas economy. New York City is the largest city in the country so it is great to see most of the people there have jobs. It is even better to see the rate keeps decreasing. If every large city in this country had their unemployment rate going down this country would be heading in a great direction.

  3. It is great to see that NYC is getting cleaned up. The crime rate has dropped in the last 5 years in the city, and now its even better to see that the unemployment rates are dropping as well. Its all for the best.
